The occasion was the last meeting for the year 2016 for all advisors of the Philippines Community Support Services (PCSS) in Christchurch. Aside from the Ambassador addressing the gathering, Tara Ross of the University of Canterbury, also handed over the result of the UNESCO NZ research project to PCSS that looked into the information gaps of the Filipino migrants in Christchurch.

The Ambassador on his part while praising the excellent relationship between New Zealand and Philippines, also stressed on the need for more work to be done on what he called City Diplomacy, Regional Diplomacy and Business Diplomacy front.

In the end, Delia Richards of the Christchurch-based organisation Philippine Culture and Sports, who organised the meeting, called on the community to support the 2017's annual national reunion of Federation of Filipino Associations, Societies and Clubs in New Zealand, which will be held in the Garden City.
